Curtis Crocker brings over 14 years in venture investing experience to the firm as its Managing Partner.  Prior to joining Reservoir, he was a partner at Alpha Capital Partners and the Northwest Ohio Venture Fund.  He has extensive experience as an investor in health care, communications, information technology and other technology companies, and in sourcing, negotiating, building value and exiting venture investments. Curtis has a B.S. from Olivet Nazarene University and an MBA from Indiana University and is a graduate of the Venture Capital Institute.


Timothy G. Biro

Tim Biro is a General Partner of Reservoir Venture Partners and Managing Partner of Ohio Innovation Fund. Mr. Biro has 14 years of venture capital experience. Mr. Biro has a strong background in the life-sciences and biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Prior to his career in venture capital, Tim worked in Operations Management at Merck & Co. Prior to Merck, Tim worked in cancer research at the Hershey Medical Center. Mr. Biro holds a BS in Microbiology from the Pennsylvania State University, a BS in Pharmacy (summa cum laude) from Temple University, and a MBA in Finance and Marketing (with distinction) from the Wharton School of Business.


sTEVEN B. JAFFEE

Steve Jaffee is a serial entrepreneur who has successfully managed, grown and exited early-stage companies in several sectors.  Most recently, he was President and Managing Director of the Capital Markets Group of Textron Financial Corporation.  While at Textron, Steve also co-founded and served as Managing Director for Textron Financial Mezzanine Partners L.P. and served as Executive Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions.  Textron Financial purchased RFC Capital Corporation, where Steve served as CEO of this venture-backed start-up until its purchase by Textron.  RFC specialized in lending to telecommunications and information technology service providers.  This transaction provided RFC’s venture investors with a 30% plus internal rate of return.

 

Prior to that, Steve served as a senior executive at Access Energy Corporation until its sale to Enron Gas Services Corp.  During his tenure, Access grew from four employees and a handful of customers to a company with $225 million in sales, 125 employees and 30,000 customers in 30 states.

 

Steve earned his CPA while working for Price Waterhouse & Co., Inc.  He holds an MBA from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from McGill University.


William E. Tanner

Mr. Tanner has over 20 years experience in finance and operations with technology-related businesses.  He has been the CFO for numerous technology companies including fourthchannel, SalesSoft, Progenitor and Symix.  At Symix he led a successful IPO effort in 1991.  His earlier career experience included six years in the venture capital business with Scientific Advances, Inc., and three years in public accounting with KPMG.  Mr. Tanner is a CPA and holds a Bachelors degree from The Ohio State University and a MBA from the University of Minnesota.

EDF Ventures, a venture capital firm with offices in Ann Arbor, MI, serves as a special advisor to the firm.  EDF invests in technology driven companies at various stages of their development. specializing in technology and healthcare investments. Its team of professionals have provided growth capital for more than 30 companies.  EDF has $120 million under management.
