Gerry Moersdorf
Gerard (Gerry) Moersdorf founded Applied Innovation in 1983 to meet the increasing demand for telecommunications network mediation equipment. As CEO, Moersdorf provides the vision and leadership that shapes both the company's product line and approach to customer service. His philosophy of providing individual attention to customer requirements has become embedded in AI's culture.
Moersdorf was honored as the Ernst & Young Regional Entrepreneur of the Year in 1993 and, in 2000, was named Executive of the Year by the Industry and Technology Council of Central Ohio at its annual Top CAT (Contributions to the Advancement of Technology) Awards. He is often a panelist on emerging technology issues for the International Engineering Consortium and is a charter member of the Columbus Technology Leadership Council.
Prior to founding AI, Moersdorf founded and led Software Results Corporation, a manufacturer of high-speed DEC-to-IBM data communications products. He also served as a consultant to ITT North Electric Division in its development of the 1210 voice switch.
