New CEO to Lead Company Expansion

(Columbus, OH)  A veteran in innovative medical technology has been named the new CEO of CleveX, an entrepreneurial medical device company that is revolutionizing skin biopsies and wound closures for physicians.  Sam Finkelstein joins CleveX as Chief Executive Officer after 20 years in the medical device business, most recently as CEO of Riverain Medical, where he led efforts to develop software for early-stage detection of lung cancer.

Mr. Finkelstein will focus on sales of the ExiClip, an innovative 510K approved device, which allows for quick, accurate skin excisions and biopsies, and delivers a superior cosmetic result. Physicians perform more than fifteen million procedures a year that could benefit from the use of the ExiClip, which was developed by plastic surgeons and dermatologists at the Cleveland Clinic and commercialized in 2004.

“I am excited to be associated with the most innovative surgical biopsy technology to come along in the last 30 years,” said Mr. Finkelstein. “The ExiClip truly enhances the physician’s ability to obtain a more accurate biopsy sample while providing the most advanced closure technique ever designed.”

“The CleveX Board of Directors is pleased to move into its next phase of growth under the able leadership of Sam Finkelstein, an accomplished executive with years of medical marketing experience and knowledge,” said Bill Post, Chairman of CleveX. Mr. Finkelstein augments management in the role of CEO as Gary Smith remains with the company as President.

CleveX is a venture-backed private company located in Columbus, Ohio established in 2004. The current investors include Plymouth Venture Partners, The Ohio Tech Angel Fund and Reservoir Venture Partners II L.P. For more information, visit www.clevex.com
